Awesome Buy!!! August 30, 2010 stephie As says my title, i am overlly satisfied with my purchase. It took me about two weeks of research on laptops to be able to find the best my money can buy and i was down with either this laptop from Amazon or a very similar one from HP. I was very big on the processors, and was looking for an Intel Duo core i3 or i5. i7 was not in my price range. but i have to say now, there was no need for the i7 the i3 i own now work so well that EVERYONE in my house always asks to borrow my computer when they need to do basically everything (although we have two other computers in the house).
I have to say though like every one said the screen reeeally attracts fingerprints, but to tell you the truth, i always walk around with my little wipe and in a sec can make my laptop look brand new again. So that was a very minor problem i barely notice it now. My real issue is inside. The keyboard area attracts dust like you would not believe and its a bit enoying wiping it since you have both the keys and and the touch screen options on top.
But enough with that, Media Smart is the bomb. It lets you go online use camera web cam, watch tv all without even turning on your computer! Oh and windows 7 is amaizing. doesnt automatically comes with the icons on the right that Windows came up with not long ago, but you can actually put and arrange those as you please.
Overall i loove this product and everything in it. I could sit here and write for hours about the little features that make it so wonderful but that would bore you to death. So i will end with this note, for anyone looking for a good product at a lower price, this is a Definite Must!!
great value for money August 16, 2010 vins I was looking for a loatop as I'm going back to university for my masters. I live outside the US and laptops are pretty expensive here. One of my friends who was working in the US opted to help me by hand carrying this.
I think this is a great deal and great value for money. The cheapest brand with the same configuration would have costed me more than 1000 USD if I were to buy it here. But this was HP and it came with Original windows installed. I got it for 619/= from Amazon and shipping was free!!
Everybody in our family likes it because they can use it with skype to keep in touch with all their frieds. All my frineds at the university also agrees that this is a great value for money.
One drawback is the battery life. But I normally use it plugged in. When I'm using the battery I change the power mode to "power saver" so I can get more time. This is not a big problem.
All in all a great product.
i hate the battery August 12, 2010 physically, and function- wise, the battery is the worst part about this laptop.
it is a massive, rectangular hunk that juts out in a ridiculous fashion in the back of this laptop,
creating a (not so) slight incline on the laptop.
the incline itself i can forgive.
but the battery itself weighs so much- that this modest little laptop isn't actually as light as it looks.
i would say this laptop ways about 7-8 pounds- half of that comes from the battery alone.
as a student who needs to carry this laptop+ other academic masses from day to day, this is definitely a negative.
however, i could forgive it's weight too, i guess, if the battery actually provided some decent life.
but no. like so many others have pointed out, the battery life is low, lasting about 3 hours at most.
besides for the battery, i guess it is a decent, average laptop- slightly bulky looking, but
good for it's price.
and the touch screen does go a little haywire, esp. when the windows is just starting, but it is nowhere
as annoying/exascerbating as the stupid batery.
